Anthony Evans was already an established artist with more than a decade of experience when he appeared on Season 2 of The Voice, but the show brought new audiences and opportunities. During his time in Los Angeles, he worked with CeeLo Green, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Darrin Criss, and Glee, and is now a part of the casting team responsible for The Voice.
As Evans headed back into the studio, he could have easily chosen a new direction. Instead he returned to his roots. “Real Life/Real Worship” gets to the heart of who Evans is as an artist and a man. It incorporates his recent experiences in a city where his faith is often more of a curiosity with his upbringing as a pastor’s son in the buckle of the Bible Belt. Recorded in LA and Dallas and produced by Evans and rising talent Max Stark, “Real Life/Real Worship” is pop and R&B-infused original praise & worship as well as songs that poetically unveil circumstances Evans has faced in his personal life.
Evans co-wrote half of the tracks with Martha Munizzi and penned others with artists like Cindy Morgan and Bert Elliott (One Republic). “Sometimes it takes real life to understand the meaning of real worship.” Evans says. This album is honest, authentic, and the real deal.
