Influenced by everything from traditional black gospel tunes to the soulful R&B hits of Motown, the Katinas’ music continues to transcend all cultural, generational, and denominational boundaries. “Destiny” is their sophomore release, taking the group in an “edgier, more current” direction, according to band member James. “Not that it’s going to be trendy…but as far as the hooks are concerned, it’s going to really have a strong appeal to the younger generation.”
